What we are
Magic Mountain is a production company for film and visual storytelling – where narrative craft meets the creative power of new technology.
I’m Håkan Lindhé. For over thirty years, I’ve written and directed for theatre, opera, film, and television. My son, Nikodemus Lindhé, grew up in these creative worlds – but chose music as his first language. He now combines it with technical expertise, sound design, and visual storytelling.
Together, we merge classical narrative experience with the latest digital tools. We believe film is entering a new era – where AI and generative technologies allow us to create scenes, moods, and worlds that were previously impossible or too costly to realize.
But making film with AI is not just “pressing a button.”
It requires the same artistic process as traditional filmmaking: a strong script, a visual concept, a clear creative vision – and the technical skills to translate all that into moving images, sound, and emotional rhythm.
We’ve learned that process. We know the craft. We know the tools.
And now, we’re open for business.
What we do
At Magic Mountain, we use film and AI to tell stories that were once too expensive, too complex – or simply impossible – to bring to life. Here are three areas where we believe this new form of storytelling truly shines:
We make history come alive – quite literally.
By combining careful research with old photos, documents, and archival texts, we can recreate environments, atmospheres and events that no longer exist. With the help of AI, we turn still images and fragmented memories into vivid visual stories.
One example is a film we produced for the Japanese shipping company NYK Line, celebrating their 140th anniversary. Even though we had only a handful of historical photographs, we worked closely with NYK Europe’s communications director to write a script based on archival material and historical documents. The result was a visual time journey – where the company’s extraordinary story came to life.
1. Bringing the past to life
We also bring form to the future.
With sketches, plans, blueprints or even just ideas, we can visualize buildings, environments and events that haven’t happened yet. Whether it’s an architectural project, a future city district, or a scenario that needs to be explained visually – we bring it to life.
This means we can show what a neighborhood might feel like before it’s built. Animate a structure that only exists as CAD files. Or help people imagine complex future visions through moving images.
2. Visualizing what doesn’t yet exist
We believe AI-driven film production can become a powerful tool for the traditional film and TV industry – not as a replacement, but as an extension.
With our tools and workflow, we can work as a new type of second unit:
– Creating establishing shots with perfect weather, light and location – without sending a crew to remote places.
– Generating plates for greenscreen shoots.
– Building large crowds, car scenes, stunts, or hard-to-capture moments.
These are just a few examples. In reality – the possibilities are endless.
